Reimagining the workplace. Rethinking organisational change.

After Brexit: How can we transform the workplace together?

Shift : 14th July ’16 : London (9:15am – 5pm)

Brexit update

In response to the shock, chaos, division and disaray unleashed by the Brexit referendum, we feel it is essential to make space for people to come together. This is a participant-led event, so the experience and discussions you have is up to you. But with many people distracted from fancy notions of reinventing work by very real and immediate worry, fear, anger, despondency this is your time to let off steam, ask big questions, get support and support others, or get constructive.

One thing seems certain: If it is true that many people have reacted to feeling ignored, impoverished and powerless, then making the workplace work for everyone, of making sure that everyone has a voice and can participate is more important than ever.

How can we respond? How we drive this movement forward? How can we help make work better for everyone?

"Sounds like a total winner. Wish I could be there. NOW is the time to open some space. You got it right!" Harrison Owen, creator of Open Space Technology

Learn, meet, share, work, compare, play

We face political, environmental, social and economic crises: why does it still feel like business as usual? With urgent patience… how do we work smarter?

An ‘Open Space’ event

How can we transform the workplace? Shift is a participant-led unConference, using self-organisiation to make the most efficient and effective use of your time. Shift is a gathering of people who are leading, experiencing or helping others implement change in the workplace, and are curious about doing it better. Expect it to feel radically different to your usual conference format, a 'bottom up' approach where the experts are the participants and expertise is everywhere. Come with a question or a problem to solve, an insight or example to share, or something to work on or test out.

A call to action

Building alliances for collective impact

Change is everywhere. Shift is nowhere. The management revolution is now-here.

A majority of employees are disengaged and find work dissatisfying. For many it is much worse. Sustainable businesses are still a minority. The old business models are no longer fit for purpose.

Many have called for businesses to repurpose and reimagine themselves. Transformation is happening, but not deep, fast or widespread enough. There is plenty of talk about the need for change. There is plenty of reorganisation – and change fatigue. Deep shift is hard. There is cultural inertia. There is climate urgency. There is burnout. There is change failure. There is complexity. There is will. There are solutions.

We can do work better, and we can do change better. Together.

How can we scale up and accelerate what works and how can we do a better job of change?

What can we do to shift our organisations now?
